Comparison of the Effective Atomic Numbers of Some Contrast Agents Compounds Used in Medical Imaging

Contrast agents are frequently used in medical imaging such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) to reveal the final state of body or organs. The states organs examined obtained according absorption principle x gamma rays interacting with contrast agents. In this study, C17H22I3N3O8 (Iopamidol), C11H9I3N2O4 (Diatrizoic acid), BaSO4 (Barium sulfate) C7H6O2 (Benzoic acid) compounds calculate effective atomic number (Zeff). Auto-Zeff Direc-Zeff software have been for calculation an energy range from 100 keV 10 MeV. According results compared each other compound. these results, it was seen that were compatible low regions.
